Whether this is your first eye exam ever or you have been wearing glasses for many years you may want to know what to expect at your visit to our office.

Upon check-in you will be greeted by one of our pleasant staff members who will assist you in filling out the forms needed to register you as a patient.

You will then proceed to pre-testing where one of our experienced technicians will perform a computerized test that gives a reading of your eye prescription. Once in the exam room, the doctor will perform a thorough vision and eye health examination. This includes determination of whether you need vision correction and checking for diseases of the eye such as glaucoma.

Drops will be put in your eyes so that the retina or back of the eye can be evaluated. This is called dilation and your close-up vision will be blurred for several hours after. While in most cases you will be able to drive after the exam, some people prefer to bring someone with them to drive.

What to bring?

You will need your insurance card if any, a picture ID such as a drivers license, your current glasses if any,and sunglasses for after your exam as your eyes may be light-sensitive. If you will be having a contact lens evaluation, please bring whatever information (such as the brand and type),you have regarding your current contacts.

Please also bring a list of the medications you are taking.
